As part of this exercise, we invite observers to participate in the tour organised on 3 and 4 October 2023. It will give participants the opportunity to explore key moments of the exercise taking place in Bucharest and Cernavodă.

The launch event of the National Exercise Valahia 2023 takes place on 19 September 2023 at the Marshal Garden Hotel, starting at 09:00AM.
The main purpose of the event is to present the objectives and the conduct of the exercise organized by CNCAN, from 03-05 October 2023.

The training session for Controllers and Evaluators marks a key moment in the planning and conduct of the national exercise Valahia 2023. This two-day seminar will focus on detailed training for Controllers and Assessors, giving them an in-depth understanding of the planning and preparation process, the organisations involved, objectives, key locations and responsibilities specific to their roles. With the help of experts, participants will be led through a series of presentations and simulations, covering all aspects of exercise control and evaluation, including monitoring strategies and the use of specialised tools such as the CalianResponseReady platform. This training aims to ensure a successful implementation and effective evaluation of the Valahia 2023 exercise.
The venue of the seminar is located on Blv. Magheru, nr. 31, on the 1st floor of the building of the Progress Forestry Society.

The seminar aims to provide an integrated platform for discussion and training, with three days of informative and interactive sessions preceding the national exercise. The first day will introduce participants to the basics of nuclear emergencies, the legislative framework and effective ways of public communication in such crisis situations. The second and third days will focus on specific aspects of communication in a nuclear or radiological emergency, practical exercises and evaluations.

The meetings on 23 August in Constanta and 24 August in Fetești were aimed at aligning the current stage of preparation of the National Exercise Valahia 2023 and presenting other organisational details, such as the exercise platform and website. Representatives from various organizations presented their state of preparation for local arrangements and next steps were agreed. The Prefect of Constanta County highlighted the importance of the responsibility of each institution in preparing for this complex exercise.
Event description: This meeting with local authorities, scheduled for 23 and 24 August 2023, will take place in Constanța and Ialomița counties and will involve a series of discussions, presentations and visits to the sites planned for the exercise. For the purpose of effective collaboration, participants will include representatives of the Prefectures and Municipalities involved, CNCAN, DSU/IGSU/ISU as well as other actors involved in emergency management.
During the seminar, the following topics will be addressed: presentation and review of the Valahia 2023 scenario, development of the injects and development of the evaluation strategy. Also during the seminar, attention will be paid to the completion of the Player Directory in the CalianResponseReady platform, to ensure effective communication and proper coordination between participants. The development of the evaluation strategy will complete the process, ensuring that the results of the exercise are evaluated in a coherent and comprehensive way.
